YORUBA WIKIMEDIANS USER GROUP WIKI LOVES FOLKLORE PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2024

Wiki Loves Folklore, hosted on Wikimedia Commons, is an annual global photo contest capturing the essence of folk cultures worldwide. Wiki Loves Folklore 2024, an extension of the 2021 edition, explores the theme of folk culture, tracing its roots back to Wiki Loves Love 2019. Originating in 2018, the project initially focused on ceremonies and festivals of love. In South-West Nigeria, the national contest is coordinated by the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group.

This photography contest highlights diverse folk cultures, covering categories like folk festivals, dances, music, activities, games, cuisine, wear, folklore, and traditions. The spectrum includes ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, traditional songs, dances, plays, games, seasonal events, calendar customs, folk arts, religion, mythology, and more. Additional suggestions and examples are available on our Category page.
